About this Event
Few properties in the Westchester Land Trust’s preserve network are as biodiverse and beautiful as the Westchester Wilderness Walk/Zofnass Family Preserve, and WLT staff and volunteers work hard to keep it this way. Invasive species are persistent and resilient, which is why we need your help removing invasive species and planting and supporting native vegetation.
Come along with Conservation Technician Stella and Preserve Manager Ben to learn how to identify native and invasive vegetation, gain new skills in habitat restoration, and connect with nature.
Getting There + Parking: Park in the Joshua Hobby parking lot, click here for Google Maps (41.181266, -73.584805). Carpooling is encouraged.
Terrain: Hiking distances will vary between 1 and 5 miles depending on tasks and trail conditions. Trail conditions include steep inclines, bare rock, steps, and stream crossings. Tools and light snacks will be provided. No prior trail maintenance experience needed!
