About this Event
High school students will learn first-hand the science techniques used to improve agriculture in the Genes & Greens: The Tech of Plant Science program. Agriculture is a leading driver of the Wiregrass economy and provides multiple entries for careers. This dynamic two-week summer camp will introduce students to genetic research that is shaping the future of farming by improving agriculture and protecting the environment. Participants will learn lab skills through multiple experiments and explore plant genetics and research methods. The cost of the program is $275. Scholarship funding opportunities are available.
Genes & Greens will be held daily from June 17 - June 28, 2024, from 12 - 4:00 pm at Dothan High School in Dothan, AL. (There will be no camp on Wednesday, June 19, 2024)
Registration will be open March 1 - March 31, 2024.

Eligibilty Requirements:
- Students must be a rising 10th -12th grader upon time of application
- Students must be able to provide their own transportation
- $275 is due in full upon full registration.
Refund Policy:
- Full refund (minus any processing fees) - up to thirty (30) days prior to the program start date
- Partial refund - up to fourteen (14) days prior to the program start date
- No refund – less than fourteen (14) days prior to the program start date
