The Gifford Youth Achievement Center (GYAC) is eagerly preparing for their 26th annual Back-to-School Bash. Last year, with help from the community, GYAC distributed more than 850 backpacks filled with folders, paper, pencils, glue sticks and much more.This year’s Back-to-School Supply Giveaway will take place on Saturday, August 3rd in GYAC’s parking lot starting at 9am. The event is open to all Indian River County students in need of school supplies for the upcoming school year.
GYAC’s annual Back-to-School Bash is more than a time for the distribution of school supplies – it’s also a time to encourage our youth to be the best that they can be.
Donations are actively being collected throughout the county and can be dropped off through Friday, August 2nd at GYAC.
Supplies requested include:
backpacks
composition notebooks
rulers
pocket folders
scissors
pencils, markers, pens and colored pencils
glue/glue sticks
highlighters
hand sanitizer
notecards
calculators
Monetary contributions are also welcome.
Volunteers are invited to participate in GYAC’s packing party on Friday, August 2nd starting at 9:00 a.m.
