We're baaa-aaack! And better than ever, with a new venue and the most special of special guests. Very proud that on 8 May, Tiger Bay Poetry will be supporting the launch of First Rain in Paradise (Bloodaxe), the newest collection by Gwyneth Lewis, the first-ever National Poet of Wales. Gwyneth will be reading from this new publication, as well as from Nightshade Mother (University of Wales Press), her extraordinary 2024 memoir. To accommodate our growing audience, we have moved to Chapter Arts Centre in Canton-- Tiger Bay is as much a state of mind as a geographical place, after all. To cover the venue fee, there is a nominal ticket charge of £3 (yes, I'll be able to take card payments, although cash is fine). If you're skint, let me know at the door--I'll never turn anyone away who wants to support poetry.
We will have our usual brilliant open mic so I hope to see lots of familiar and new faces on 8 May at 7:30 at Chapter!
