A night of blues, roots and guitar music from international touring and recording artist Gwyn Ashton. Promoting his latest album Sonic Blues Preachers (recorded with ex Mickey Finn and Bon Scott Fraternity drum mer John Freeman) Ashton is doing a run of 'Roots, Blues & Beyond' solo shows across Australia.
For the past 25 years, clocking up in excess of 5000 gigs through 32 countries South Australia Music Hall of Fame member Gwyn Ashton has toured Europe with Status Quo, The Yardbirds, Buddy Guy, Mick Taylor, Slade and many other of his contemporaries.
He's opened shows for BB King, Ray Charles, Van Morrison, Johnny Winter and sat in onstage with Canned Heat, Howlin' Wolf's Hubert Sumlin and dozens of rock and blues artists. He's recorded with members of Deep Purple, Fabulous Thunderbirds, Robert Plant's and Rory Gallagher's bands and performed with Stevie Wright and Swanee and recorded on two of Jim Keays's solo albums.
