November 12, 2024 (10 am – 2 pm) in the SPH Convening Center!
About this Event
You are invited to participate in the first SPH Research Sandbox, an opportunity to meet other faculty in population sciences and brainstorm ideas and develop new collaborative research projects. This inaugural event will focus on non-communicable diseases (NCDs; e.g., cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes, dementia) and related behaviors (e.g., substance use, exercise, nutrition). Research ideas generated through the Sandbox can be developed for submission for SPH Office of Research Excellence (ORE) pilot awards, as well as other support mechanisms from GW Cancer Center, the GW Office of the Vice Provost for Research (OVPR), and other internal or external funding mechanisms.
The Sandbox is open to SPH faculty, SPH faculty affiliates, and postdocs. The day will include: facilitated networking and ideation, group project development with brief high-level presentations and feedback, and information on SPH/GW pilot award mechanisms.
*This is an in-person event. A hybrid option is unavailable due to the Sandbox format.*
Lunch will be provided to attendees in the SPH Convening Center.
