Fairbanks faces energy crossroads. Join Tom Delong to explore GVEA’s past, present, and future as it navigates gas shortfalls and renewables
About this Event

Fairbanks and Interior Alaska are at an energy crossroads. Our electrical generation fleet is aging and a new generation must be brought online. The Cook Inlet is experiencing a gas shortfall and GVEA can no longer rely on gas-fired economy energy from Southcentral. GVEA has won federal awards for hundreds of millions of dollars for new batteries and transmission to support solar and wind projects. What are the major challenges and opportunities facing GVEA today? Join Tom Delong, Chairman of the Board of GVEA, for a presentation and Q&A about our energy past, present, and future. This event is free and open to the public.
