About the Artists
VADIM ASTRAKHAN — Guitar & Voice
Vadim is a brilliant guitarist and vocalist whose range spans lyrical ballads, jazz, blues, and rock-n-roll. His passionate performances and expressive playing have earned him a devoted following around the world. He is also one of the most well-known translators of Vladimir Vysotsky, bringing the legendary bard’s songs to English-speaking audiences. Beyond music, Vadim translated Goethe’s Faust, wrote and directed the off-Broadway play A Shift of Opinion, and authored the book Раздвинуть горизонты (“Expanding Horizons”), a thoughtful exploration of Vysotsky’s songs and legacy.
ALEX NOTKIN - Guitar & Voice
A talented singer and actor well known to NY and NJ audiences is joining this impressive line-up. Every song is a performance. As Alex transforms himself from a Mexican mariachi, to an irresistible Italian heartthrob, to a Georgian man of the mountains, his guitar dutifully follows. Can't wait!
