About this Event
Waypoint Crew is committed to uniting a close-knit crew of outdoor enthusiasts and adventure seekers (ages 20s-40s) through exploring spectacular routes in London, the UK, and beyond.
This time, we’re heading on a beautiful 14km countryside hike from Guildford to Gomshall, taking in stunning woodland trails (hopefully bluebells!), open meadows, and picturesque villages along the way!
One of the highlights of our route will be passing through the charming village of Shere. If you’ve seen the famous film The Holiday starring Cameron Diaz, then you might recognise this beautiful spot! Fun fact: Shere is often used as a filming location for its English countryside charm, featuring in movies like Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason and Four Weddings and a Funeral.
To round off the adventure, we’ve booked a table at the charming Compasses Inn beer garden in Gomshall for some well-earned drinks with like-minded legends.

🥾 Meet Your Guides:
Meet Abi – A fellow weekend warrior and qualified Mountain Leader who prides herself on cramming as much adventure as possible into ‘weekends + annual leave’. When she’s not leading hikes for Waypoint Crew, you’ll find her hosting women’s adventure holidays, teaching expedition skills to DofE groups or putting in the miles on her road bike!
Meet Zac – A seasoned Freelance Outdoor Instructor and qualified Mountain Leader with over a decade of experience leading groups in the outdoors. When he's not leading hikes for Waypoint Crew, you’ll find him leading overseas expeditions, instructing sailing, skiing & scuba diving or training to row the Atlantic!
🕙 Event Schedule:
11:00am – 11:30am: Meet outside Guildford Station to connect with your fellow hikers and kick off the day. If you’re travelling by train, there are regular services from London Waterloo to Guildford. We’re expecting around 35 participants for this adventure.
11:30am: The hike begins! Please be ready to depart promptly. If you’re running late, contact Bethany Robb at Waypoint Crew on 07713636371.
2:00pm (approx.): Time for a well-deserved picnic lunch stop. Don’t forget to bring your own packed lunch!
4:30pm: The hike wraps up at the Compasses Inn in Gomshall, where we’ll celebrate the day with well-deserved drinks in their lovely beer garden! Fingers crossed for sunshine!
⚠️ Important Travel Information:
We recommend buying a return train ticket from London to Gomshall via Guildford. You can hop off the train at Guildford on the way there.

If you are booked onto the hike, please fill in one of these Consent Forms no later than the night before. You will not be allowed to partake in the hike unless you have filled out this form.

Photographers and videographers may join this event. By signing up, you consent to the use of your photos and videos captured during the day for marketing and promotional purposes.
Refund Policy
Refunds will only be given if the event is cancelled. If you can no longer attend, you’re more than welcome to sell your ticket to someone else; however, please email us if you do so.
