Join the Guild of Middle Eastern Dance as we create a beautiful blend of Middle Eastern and related dance. Our community of dancers, both professional and avocational, come together to present this beautiful dance in its many styles and expressions. From traditional Middle Eastern dance to modern fusion to shimmering raqs sharqi, you’ll enjoy 20+ soloists and groups. Each dancer portrays their unique self-expression inspired by music, with a lot of sparkle and color. Note: Raqs is Arabic for dance, and it is used as a prefix to describe various forms of Arabic dance, such as: raqs sharqi (Eastern dance), raqs baladi (country dance), and raqs assaya (cane dance).
