Do you have an interest in sharing a love of art with student visitors? If so, we want you to be an Art Center Guide! We are currently recruiting Guides for school group tours and future needs may include adult tours and special events We’re looking for anyone interested in the visual arts, who enjoys a museum setting, and interacting with students, Guides will greet visitors and provide a scheduled tour in our galleries for visiting school groups so we are seeking Guides who enjoy interacting with children, elementary to high school ages, and can facilitate discussions. A prior background in art, art history, or being a tour guide is not required; we’ll provide the training and support you need.

Great Guides will be people who:
•Understand that learning happens through active, fun, and engaging sessions.
•Can keep lecturing to a minimum and help create a successful learning environment by using proven strategies that appeal to young visitors.
•Can help students at different levels of development with interpreting what they see and experience to make the most of their visit.
•Are naturally inquisitive; our school tours are about asking questions and using visual thinking strategies to develop discussions with students and create connections between students and the art.
•Understand the importance of being welcoming and open to diverse audiences.
•Are patient, enthusiastic, and able to speak in front of a large group (tours may be up to 30 students).
