This experience - a guided walking tour of the ancient city of Winchester - will start at the Westgate, the medieval entrance to the once capital of England. the tour starts with a visit to see William the Conquer's Winchester Castle and then on to The Great Hall, learning a little more of the Legend of King Arthur along the way.The tour then follows the High Street, before arriving at the famous, Winchester Cathedral and the final resting place of lady who left her mark on Winchester and the wider world - Jane Austen.
Moving down the High Street, you'll then stop at the iconic statue of Alfred the Great where you will hear tales of his immense contributions to the city's history before walking along the banks of the River Itchen, which inspired the works of poet John Keats.
The next stop is the ruins of the Bishop of Winchester's palace, before heading along College Street to finish at the acclaimed Wykeham Arms pub (where you are welcome to stop for a drink)
