An event for anyone curious about the oneness of Life and of trees’ ability to help us feel into this.
We tend to believe that the web of life emerged out of the ocean, but was it actually the living ocean that found a way to express itself on land?
This guided walk in the woods is an invitation to dissolve any sense of individual separateness and merge with Rolland’s ‘oceanic feeling’, a sense of oneness with and within Life, through a playfully contemplative exercise in seeing the literal and metaphorical wood through the trees.
As we pass through her vegetal skin you may come to feel like Emerson’s ‘transparent eyeball’, sensing the gaze of Gaia passing through you. Amidst this sea of green, you might come to appreciate the commonality of water and blood. You may come to see what we call woodland as a larger, inside-out evolution of that original land-based mutualism - lichen. You might receive conventional information about wildlife too, though not at the expense of integrated wholes. For sure, and at least, you will benefit from good company, a boost of vitamin G(reen) and many breaths of fresh, sea air.
When: Saturday 7th February, 10.30am - 13.00pm.
Where: St Nectans Church, Stoke, Hartland, EX39 6DU.
We will meet at the parking area adjacent to the Church (and this will be a loop walk back to the same point).

There are not many parking spaces, we will email everyone a couple of weeks before the event to find out about lift sharing opportunities.
What to bring: Coast path and weather appropriate gear. Event will only be cancelled in foulest of weather.
