Join us on this walk to visit Scammonden. Adjacent to the M62 motorway, this walk teeters around the edge of Scammonden Reservoir, taking in the wonderful views of the surrounding countryside, woodland, hills and rough pastures. This is a challenging walk suitable for experienced walkers. There are steep, narrow, boggy, muddy, uneven sections of terrain along the route. Sturdy boots and suitable outdoor clothing is a must.This walk is 10 miles and will take approx. 5 hours.
Meet at the Marsden offices (Information Room The Old Goods Yard Station Road, Huddersfield HD7 6DH)
Dogs on leads welcome. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start time of the walk so we can cover relevant safety information.
Please bring plenty to drink and snacks. Suggested donation of £3 which goes towards running these walks and restoring the moorland.
