The Christmas traditions of early Rogers will be the focus of a new exhibition at the Rogers Historical Museum. A Rogers Christmas will be on display in our historic 1895 Hawkins House. The guided tours of this special exhibition will begin on November 15th and run through January 3rd. You are invited to experience the charm of our cozy Christmas cottage carefully decorated to remind us of family life in Rogers many years ago. Come with us on a walk through time and enjoy the magic of Christmas Past.
Stepping into the Hawkins House you will learn that much of the holiday season was focused on helping those less fortunate. With baked goods, canned foods and clothing gathered for the local charity drive. You’ll see that the family enjoyed winter fun with ice skating on a local pond or going sledding. The house will also be decorated in traditional pine boughs and holly; with a small table top tree decorated in tinsel, gilded nuts, homemade ornaments and candles. Capture a moment with your phone and make a memory to enrich your family tradition with the quiet beauty of a historical holiday.
