About this Event
Gazetted in 1877, Albert Park which now forms the upper area of Roma Street Parkland, has been part of a changing landscape on the edge of Brisbane's city centre for over 145 years.
Led by one of our knowledgeable volunteers, this free guided tour will take you on a journey through time; when the park was used as a tranquil place for leisurely strolls, to play lawn tennis or as an important recreation space for the American Soldiers to relax during World War II. You will also hear the stories of those who were influential in the parks' creation and subsequent redesigns, and learn more about some horticultural and built heritage features which remain.

Please wear a hat, sunscreen and bring a water bottle. A water station is located in The Hub.

When visiting Roma Street Parkland, please ensure you observe Queensland Health guidelines and do not attend if any of the below are applicable:
- you or a member of your group are displaying COVID-19 symptoms - these include a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath, and feeling unwell.
- you or a member of your group has tested positive for COVID-19.
Please be mindful that whilst the guided tour takes place outside, at some places during the tours, you may not be able to stay 1.5m apart from other attendees. Please feel free to wear a face mask should you wish to do so.
