Come join us for a fascinating guided tour of a Local Indigenous Mixtec Garden in the Mission! Learn about the rich history and culture of the Mixtec people of the Mexican state of Oaxaca as you explore the beautiful garden filled with native Californian and Mexican plants. Your guide will share information about the tribal, medicinal and culinary uses of plants. This is a unique opportunity to learn from an indigenous environmental steward.

Info: Discover the history, science, and mythology behind the food you eat every day and the Californian and Mexican plants you pass every day. We will start with our guide's personal history as a Native environmentalist, then tour and sample the edible and medicinal plants she cultivates.
Enjoy a garden-fresh small meal
Info: After sampling different plants, we will experience the flavors in a traditional Native American dish and wrap-up. You will have the chance to purchase houseplants if you would like.
