On the trail of the unconscious: A tour through Sigmund Freud's Vienna. Join me on a visit to the most famous psychologist in the world! ?Freud only spent around 5 of the 83 years of his full life not in Vienna: at the age of 4, he moved with his parents to the city. With it, he would be bound by a lifelong love-hate relationship. ?
At 82, he had to emigrate to London in order to - as he himself put it - “die in freedom”. The city of Vienna, which in the second half of the 19th century rapidly transformed itself into a world metropolis with all the light and dark sides that came with it, was to become the ideal breeding ground for Freud's observations, studies and discoveries, which ultimately made him the now world-famous founder of psychoanalysis. ??⚕️
I've been studying Freud's life for the past 20 years. As such, I have a particularly close relationship with Freud and know his life and work inside out. And so I'd like to invite you to join me on this walk that takes you through the professor's Vienna. ?
All your questions will be answered: Where did he live? Where did he work? Who were his most famous contemporaries and patients? Was he a dog lover or a cat lover? I'll give you the answers to these and many other questions on this tour, during which we will also visit the Freud Museum & Library together! ?
