Crystal Mountain Resort & Glazer’s Camera is excited to offer an afternoon snowshoe adventure.
Climb through the snow-covered forest, while taking in stunning views and capturing moments as you hike. During this tour, John Greengo will share his expertise in creating images that help you tell the story of your experience on the trail.
Participants will meet up in the base area for check-in. Glazer’s Camera will have a limited number of Nikon Z series cameras and lenses to loan out to interested people.
From there we will head out. The route will begin at the Crystal Mountain base area (4,400 ft) and wind up through the towering forest along the Silver Creek Trail.
This is a unique snowshoeing experience only offered once this season, so take full advantage of a great workout and connect with other fun mountain photographers!
WILL I ENJOY SNOWSHOEING?
Snowshoeing is one of the most peaceful ways to explore the snowy alpine. The footprint of the snowshoes keeps you elevated above the deep snow and makes it nearly as easy as walking. Snowshoes also have metal teeth that grip on steep or icy surfaces, making it easy to climb steep slopes if you desire. Crystal Mountain has set up a trail system that should make your adventure very easy and fun.
EXPERIENCE LEVEL
Snowshoers and photographers of any level are welcome. Previous experience is not required but participants need to have a clear understanding of the physical requirements of traveling uphill.
WHAT'S INCLUDED
Your ticket price includes:
- In-Person snowshoe tour, with John Greengo and a Crystal Mountain Guide.
- Nikon loaner gear
The ticket price does not include parking, meals, or lodging.
NIKON LOANER GEAR
Attendees will have access to limited Nikon gear, including Z series cameras and lenses. This will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
COMMUNICATION
Registered attendees will receive email communication, via Eventbrite for the meeting location at Crystal Mountain.

WHAT TO BRING
Consider bringing/wearing the following items on your snowshoe trip to ensure a fun, warm, dry time.
SNOWSHOE GEAR
Snowshoes - Available for Rent at Crystal Mountain
Poles - Available for Rent at Crystal Mountain
SNOWSHOE + POLE RENTAL (add on): $38 at Crystal Mountain
SNOWSHOE CLOTHING
- Moisture-wicking base layer (Polyester blend or wool). Cotton doesn't dry well and won't keep you warm if it gets wet
- Insulation Layer (Fleece or Vest)
- Waterproof/Breathable jacket
- Boots - Waterproof hiking boots or insulated winter boots
- Hat or Beanie
- Socks (Wool or Synthetic)
- Gloves or mittens
- Boots - Waterproof hiking boots or insulated winter boots
- Headlamp, sunset is at 5:30 pm
- Backpack - Keep all of your essentials in your backpack
Don't bring anything you won't need, the weight will slow you down.
PHOTO GEAR
- Camera with a fully charged battery and memory cards to get through the trek
- Bring extra batteries (store them in your pocket for longer life)
- Lenses, consider something wide for sweeping landscapes, or telephoto to bring the elements together
- Camera Strap or Capture Clip to secure the camera on your body for easier access
ABOUT JOHN GREENGO
John Greengo specializes in photographic education through online training, books, and international photo tours. He has photographed on all seven continents and has led photo tours to many of the 50 countries he has visited. John’s desire to help fellow photographers grow, coupled with his talent for simplifying the complex, has positioned him as a world leader in photographic education. His classes over the last ten years have been viewed by millions around the globe.
John resides in Washington State with his wife, Michelle. As a typical resident of the Pacific Northwest John can frequently be found in the mountains, on the water, or down a long and winding trail; always experiencing life through photography.
COVID POLICY
We regularly review and revise our covid policies as indicated by local and state guidelines and in response to spikes in COVID cases.
At this time Glazer's is asking for proof of vaccination (or a negative COVID test within 72 hours) to attend our in-person events for the health and safety of our guests and instructors.
Masks are optional for outdoor events where we can be more socially distant.

This event has limited space, as a result, registration is required for each attendee, if you are planning to bring a guest, please register for them as well.
If you are on the waitlist for this event, you will receive notification, via email, if a space becomes available for you.
The event may be canceled if ticket minimum sales aren't met.

PRICING, FEES & REFUNDS
In the event of a refund, Eventbrite Fees are not refundable. Eventbrite fees are only refunded if an event is canceled.
We will issue a full refund up to 3 days before the event date. No-shows will not be refunded. Refunds are unavailable post-event date.
