Join ANFT certified forest therapy guide, Katie Venechuk, to explore the relaxing practice of guided shinrin-yoku and the beauty of Blandford Nature Center as the spring forest blooms around you. Hosted once monthly from April to June, these individual experiences will begin with a brief introduction to the background and research of shinrin-yoku (translated in English as “forest bathing”), how it differs from a hike in the woods, and why it’s internationally recognized as an effective tool for natural stress release. From there, you’ll be guided in a unique experience in nature, exploring the beautiful forests and meadows of Blandford throughout the season of spring; helping you relax, reconnect, and experience your time outdoors in a new way. Each program will end with a special wild foraged tea ceremony in the forest, offering you new tastes and nourishment from nature, a snack, and time to visit as a community.
You can join us for any of the Spring Shinrin-yoku programs as a single session, or register for the full series to deepen your experience and witness the forest transform over the course of the season! Full series participants will receive $10 off their series registration, making each session just $17.46 for members, and $22.66 for non-members.
Whether you join us for one session or all three, we hope you’ll come see what nature has to share with you as you slow down, find presence and enjoy the beauty of springtime at BNC!
This program is for adults ages 18 and older.
Instructor: Katie Venechuk, founder and program guide at In Your Element Wellness and Certified Forest Therapy Guide with the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy.
Price:
Member: $20.80
Non-Member: $26
This program is intended for ages 18 and up.
If you register for all 3 sessions of this series (Apr 10, May 8, Jun 12) at once, use code SPRING25 for a $10 discount, making the full 3-part series $52.40 for members and $68 for non-members.
Please Note: This program will take place mainly outdoors. In the event of severe weather, this program will be canceled, and participants will be notified of their refund options and/or a possible makeup date.
By attending our Community Programs, you are supporting BNC’s mission of connecting the community to our natural world. We look forward to getting outside with you!
Cancellation Policy: Cancellation and refunds for any of the three sessions will result in forfeiture of this discount. No registration transfers will be allowed after the discount is applied. Notice must be received at least 7 days before the scheduled program to receive a 50% refund (or for a one-time transfer of your program fee to the next scheduled Guided Shinrin-yoku program, if you did not sign up for the full series). Due to processing fees, full refunds are not available. There will be no refunds issued within 7 days of the program. Please note that cancellations within 7 days of a program may not be eligible to transfer their program fees to the next scheduled Guided Shinrin-yoku program if we are unable to fill your spot. All Community Programs will be held unless there is severe weather, as determined by Blandford and the program guided. If a program is cancelled due to severe weather you will receive a full registration refund. Please come prepared for the elements as refunds are not available for weather-related conditions except in the case of severe weather, when you have been contacted that the program has been cancelled.
