EVENT DETAILS
This guided hike is approximately 2.5 miles with some uphill sections. Recommended for ages 8 and up (no strollers). Event is subject to cancellation due to unsafe weather conditions, including excessive heat warnings.
Please plan to arrive at the front archway between 6:15 pm and 6:45 pm for check-in. Only registered participants will be admitted (NO WALK-UPS or additional guests). Gates will be LOCKED at 6:45 pm after which time no one will be admitted. Hike starts at 7:00 PM.
This program is funded by the Outdoor Equity Grants Program, created through AB 209 and administered by California State Parks, Office of Grants and Local Services.
RESERVATIONS
Reservations are required and open August 23rd, 2025 at 8:00 a.m. You can register up to 3 people. Call Wind Wolves Preserve at (661) 858-1115 or email [email protected] for questions or more information.

- flashlight (also a blacklight if you have one)

SAFETY
- Remember to bring enough water and snacks for each person and pet in your group (it is recommended you bring 1 liter for every 2 hours of hiking/person).
- Water at all restrooms is potable, and water bottle refill stations are available at select restrooms. Please see a staff member for more information.
- Recognize the symptoms of heat illness in yourself and others.

All donations go directly to The Wildlands Conservancy and help support free public access, youth education, interpretative programs, and habitat restoration projects! ABOUT US
Wind Wolves Preserve is a 93,000-acre nature preserve located approximately 30 miles south of Bakersfield, and is owned and operated by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The preserve is open to the public daily and visitors can enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, camping, or attend a staff led program, all free of charge.
TWC is a private, non-profit organization that operates more than 25 preserves along the west coast. Our mission is "To preserve the beauty and biodiversity of the earth and to provide programs so that children may know the wonder and joy of nature."
