About this Event
Our consciousness is our awareness of the things we do and say, and portions of things realized about our self. since we consciously do and spend a lot of time doing the things we do and say, we tend to confuse ourselves, thinking we are the things we do or the labels we have obtained. so who are you really?
Here is a concept to explore - our subconscious as the other part of our self that truly holds the wisdom of who we are. some may even posit that this subconscious holds all the wisdom of our existence - past, present, and future, and is that connection to the Divine Spirit. so now...
...knowing that concept, do you want to connect with your true self or the Self (referring to the Divine Spirit)? if so, do join us for a guided meditation (no matter if you think you are of a certain level or not) as you connect to your subconscious - expand your awareness of self - and obtain a more comprehensive view of your self.
Meditation? what do you think of when you hear this word? well, for us at self place - meditation is fun, peaceful, freeing... it can also be seen as a source or cause for:
- excitement to heal (bring into awareness) a part of self previously unknown,
- restore one's vital life force energy,
- creation of the life one prefers and/or be more accepting of whatever life brings on your path, and
- love and care for self
- l ove and devotion to the Divine
Meditation is not difficult - nor is it something to fear. once you sit in silence of the mind, stillness of the body, and concentrate on a singular thing - you are on your way to having a beautiful and effective mindfulness session. what if thoughts come up during meditation? it is simple really... notice the thoughts without judgement of whether it is taking away from your practice and without the need to explore it immediately, and bring your focus back to the single point of concentration. that point of focus can also be your self - you being pure awareness.
Note: some meditation sessions may actual require you to focus on an arising thought - for example, a negative or limited belief thought - in order to dive deeper into uncovering the source. however, even at that point while we may hold the thought in mind - we would not be building up stories around it - therefore, no mind activities needed - just relaxation of mind and body - and concentration to expand your consciousness and allow answers and healing to Divinely pour into you.

- i f you have and want to bring, your personal meditation pillow. meditation pillows provided at the center, plus one can be purchased on site to take home.
- optional, eye mask - if complete darkness is preferred for your practice
- d ress relaxed and comfortable
- t ry not to consume any "heavy" (lengthy or requiring lots of energy for the body to process) food
