This 30 minute session will introduce you to some breathing techniques and talk you through a guided relaxation mediation .
About this Event

Description:

Stress and anxiety have a significant effect on the physiology of our body. We often experiencing increased heart rate, elevated blood pressure, elevated levels of the stress hormone cortisol (which reduces the functioning of our immune system), irritability and sleeplessness. To effectively combat stress, you need to activate your body’s natural relaxation response. Techniques such as deep breathing, visualization, meditation have been shown to scientifically relax your central nervous system resulting in a greater feeling of calm and wellbeing. This 30 minute session will introduce you to some breathing techniques and talk you through a guided relaxation mediation that will leave you feeling deeply relaxed and refreshed.

By the end of this session participants will:

• Experience a feeling of deep relaxation

• Feel less anxious

• Learn techniques to reduce their own stress and anxiety


Facilitator: Dr Chrissy Greenwood, Researcher development Manager is a trained Hypnobirthing practitioner who specialises in developing and delivering guided meditations for relaxation.
