To celebrate World Bee Day, we have invited Entomologist Liam Olds to lead a guided walk on native bees at Bryngarw.During the walk, we will discuss how to identify wild bees, where they nest, the flowers they like to visit, and their natural enemies. Participants will have the opportunity to see (close-up) a variety of wild bees. This will include the more familiar bumblebees, as well as smaller and often overlooked solitary bees such as mining bees, nomad bees and furrow bees.
The walk would suit adults and teenagers with a keen interest in nature. No specialist knowledge is required as the content will be aimed at beginners, but more knowledgeable individuals can also be easily accommodated.
Suitable footwear for the weather conditions are recommended (i.e. walking shoes, boots or trainers with good grip).
Booking is ESSENTIAL.
