Join NOLI backpacking instructor Minta Ray on this 4 mile out and back hike on the Appalachian Trail from USA Raft to Cliff Ridge. First and last miles are through mostly flat woodlands with the uphill climb and subsequent payoff coming in the middle when we reach Cliff Ridge, providing a stunning vista overlooking the Nolichucky River and surrounding valley. Hike ascends approximately 550' and is rated as moderate. We'll meet at 1 pm at USA Raft in Erwin, TN by the USA Raft/ NOLI signs. Expected duration is 2.5-3 hours including time at Cliff Ridge to enjoy the view. Participants are required to wear masks when first meeting and any time the group congregates. Note: This hike is held immediately after our Backpacking 101 Class so if you're interested in possibly extending the fun to a full day then sign up for both events!
