Join us for this gentle Forest Bathing experience that is designed to offer you the opportunity to slow down and connect with nature and to experience the woodland in a slightly different way to what you may be used to.Forest Bathing – also known as “Shinrin-Yoku” – originated in Japan and simply translated it means “bathing under the canopy of trees” for health and wellbeing.
What to expect:
You will be guided on a gentle walk under the canopy of trees amongst beautiful woodland in Borde Hill’s heritage-listed South Park.
At the beginning of the session we will share some of the science that shows why time with trees is so good for us, including research into the surprising secret benefits of breathing woodland air. Then, as we move slowly through the woods you’ll be guided through a series of sensory exercises designed to help you tune in to the natural environment and in doing so begin to calm your body and mind.
Towards the end of the session there will be a guided relaxation and we will conclude by sharing a refreshing herbal tea underneath the tree canopy.
There is a growing body of scientific research that shows the positive effects of spending mindful time in nature on our mental and physical health – but don’t take our word for it – why not experience it for yourself?
Cost: £39.50 per person (including members) to include Garden entry following the session.
Advance booking is required.
