About this Event
Overview:
The evolution of dental materials offers the laboratory technician many options to create
natural looking restorations. This course features the latest in ceramic materials and
several techniques to allow the dental technician to mimic natural dentition.
During this hands-on workshop, participants will prepare a 3 units central/lateral/canine
restoration using complex micro layering techniques and color matching. Additionally,
two monolithic teeth will be prepared with green state and infiltration techniques using a
gradient technology zirconia. One bake biomimetic stain technique will be use to create
high esthetic monolithic restorations. These techniques will focus on natural efficient
layering, shape, surface texture and mechanical polishing all to meet the esthetic
challenge of today's patients.
Topics Covered Will Include:
• Understanding the zirconia disc concept, substructure design and shade
selection
• Utilize shade analysis with digital photography
• Perform green stage work on monolithic and cutback structures, including
infiltration techniques for creating the perfect color background
• Master advanced layering concepts to create the illusion of depth and
translucency with minimal facial layering
• Develop natural contours and surface texture using detailed grinding and
mechanical polishing techniques
