Guest Workshop- Clay Lamps with Jessy Tyson
Join us for a creative two-day workshop with the talented artist Jessy Tyson (@jt.ceramics), where you'll learn to make your very own ceramic lamp! We'll explore form, texture, and design, discussing how to incorporate light into your work. By the end, you'll have a one-of-a-kind lamp to take home and brighten your space.
Day one (Nov. 8): Plan your lamp design and start building it.
Day two (Nov. 9): Finish sculpting and assemble your lamp. Choose how you want your lamp glazed.
What's included:
- Clay. 3 to 4 LBS/person
- Tools
- Coloured slips and underglazes
- Glazing and firing- You will have a choice of unique and fun "gloopy", bead, and crazing glazes in assorted colors to choose from.
- Hardware for your lamp will be included with the finished product.
What you'll learn
- Basic hand-building techniques
- How to sculpt and piece together your own lamp (6" to 12" in height)
- How to paint your work if desired
- How to handbuild with porcelain
