About this Event
Guerreras Film Screening presented by Escala DC and Patagonia Old Town
Guerreras captures the untold story of the women's climbing community in Colombia. The film challenges viewers to consider how their own identities and climbing experiences intersect while simultaneously glimpsing the reality of an underrepresented demographic within the climbing world – Latina climbers.
Alongside the narrative of the film, audiences across the world will resonate with universal themes of multiracial identity, womanhood, motherhood, body image standards, machismo, performance pressure and a shared love for climbing.
Guerreras promotes international climbing solidarity and provides climbers with a different perspective to become more globally aware citizens.
Funds raised from ticket sales support the Guerreras film project and the cost of film production.
