We invite you to an engaging discussion on the importance of women's health and at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library. Through the New York Times bestseller , this event will explore how lore influences personal health decisions and the role that patient and caregiver narratives can play in navigating our right to quality healthcare.

Some topics include personal health stories and advocacy; family history and experiences; generational shifts in how we view health; aging and disease; preparing for illness, and much more.

Sharon Malone, MD

Dr. Sharon Malone is a nationally known expert in women’s health and the New York Times Bestselling author of Grown Woman Talk. She is the Chief Medical Advisor at Alloy Women’s Health, a telehealth company that focuses on women over 40. Before joining Alloy, Dr. Malone was a partner at one of the oldest and most successful OB/GYN medical practices in Washington, D.C. She is board-certified by the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and certified by the North American Menopause Society as a Certified National Menopause Practitioner. Throughout her professional career, she has been active in advocating for reproductive rights, reducing teen pregnancy, and eliminating health care disparities. Learn more >>

Jonquilyn Hill

Jonquilyn Hill is the host of an upcoming call-in podcast that answers all of life’s curiosities. She joined Vox in 2022 as a senior producer and then as host of The Weeds, Vox’s policy podcast. Before joining Vox, she was a senior producer for WAMU and NPR’s 1A, where she helped launch the show and oversaw the team that adapted the broadcast into a daily podcast. While at WAMU, she also created and hosted Through The Cracks, a podcast that examined the systems in place that led to the disappearance of 8-year-old Relisha Rudd from a Washington, DC, homeless shelter. She previously worked at NPR, NY1, and NBC’s Washington bureau. Learn more >>

Attendees will have an opportunity to receive health screenings, referrals, and education, as well as engage with local women’s health advocacy groups.
