ADULT ART WORKSHOP SERIES:
📖 Chromatic Memories: Poetry and Painting | July 11th
Objects carry memories with them and stain our minds like pigment stains paper. Campers will bring a found object from home to paint in watercolor. This session will be used to reflect on artistic voice and identity as we flow between discussion and work. Participants are encouraged to bring a journal to share any writings during this event.
🖼️ Grass is Greener: Acrylic Landscape | July 18th
Channel your inner impressionist with our landscape painting workshop! Campers are encouraged to bring a landscape photograph (or follow along with the instructor) to create an acrylic painting. The class will discuss composition and the importance of the horizon line to create interest in their artwork.
🖊️ Black, White and Wet: Ink and Watercolor | July 25th
Campers will be handed a sketch book upon entry and learn pen and ink illustration techniques. The class will cover how to draw using shape-building techniques, how to use the line to create value, and how to use a pen with other mediums like watercolor to create multimedia illustration pieces.
🌟 Pulp Fiction: Printmaking Poster | August 1st
Come together, over ink! Participants will be given a fraction of a design to carve out of linoleum (rubber). When printed and arranged together, the prints create one cohesive image. You can call this type of art a polyptych, a series of multiple pieces of art that are meant to be viewed together. Often used as a storytelling device in altar spaces.
