After screening Growing Up Ethan, the film’s two subjects, Ethan Floquet and Cammie McGovern, and the filmmaker, Josephine Sittenfeld, will discuss how this short documentary film came to be, and the process of filming over a 12-year span.
Ethan Floquet is a landscaper and musician in Amherst, MA. He enjoys Broadway musicals, Bruce Springsteen, and classic rock.
Cammie McGovern is the author of HARD LANDINGS, a memoir about the transition her oldest son, who has autism, made into adult services. She has also written six books for young adults and middle-grade readers that all feature young people with a variety of disabilities at the center. Cammie is one of the proud founders of Whole Children/Milestones, a resource center for children and young adults with disabilities and their families. She lives in Amherst, MA with her husband and three sons.
Josephine Sittenfeld is a photographer and filmmaker. Her work has been published in The New Yorker, The New York Times, Aeon Magazine, and Shondaland. Jo makes works about family, nostalgia, and the passage of time. She lives in Providence, RI with her husband and two children.
