Growing Dry Beans

Welcome to bean world! Adrienne's farm project is called Bean Weekend (or sometimes beanworld!), the farm is focused on dry bean production on 1/2 acre in Indiana Pennsylvania. This workshop will be a chance to learn from Adrienne about her project and lessons learned over the last 6 years of growing dry beans in our region.

Topics will include:

* how to grow dry beans on a small scale (from home garden to diversified vegetable farm)

* how to thresh and winnow dry beans for storage (processing demo!)

* how to select varieties: how to diversify your pantry selection, select for maximum yeil and to not overwhelm yourself in the growing season

* bean culture - art/history/seed stories

Parking: There is limited on street parking. Can park at park'n'ride lot at Hamnett Station.

If traveling by Bus: Garden Dreams is one block from Busway. Hamnet Station. 61A. 

Accessibility: Site entrance accessible by sidewalk, then gravel driveway to greenhouse. Greenhouse has limited paved concrete access. While gardens are uneven grass surfaces
