Bearded irises! With little maintenance, these hard working plants will reward you with dramatic blooms each spring for years to come.
Here at NHG, we agree that there's not much to really do in August except two things: plant wildflowers, and bearded irises. While we really love our Texas wildflowers, we especially look forward to the arrival of the bearded iris rhizomes-- the 'bulb' that becomes the beautiful, exotic blooms on tough, heat tolerant plants that spread each year, and complement any sunny space with dynamic, pointed leaves.
Join NHG's Rusty E. Allen and learn how to select, plant, and maintain these great perennials in this free introductory class. A one-hour presentation, with time for your questions, like: what's a bearded iris?
