Welcome to the Grow Your Own Mushroom Workshop with Sarah Chiazza Dionise in collaboration with Strawbale Studio!
Join us on either Sat, March 29, OR Sat, Apr 06, 2025 at 1:00 PM at Strawbale Studio for a fun and educational event. Learn all about cultivating your own delicious mushrooms at home in this hands-on workshop. Our experienced educators will guide you through the process step by step, so you can leave with the knowledge, confidence, and your own fruiting log to start growing your own mushrooms right away. Don't miss this unique opportunity to connect with nature and learn a new skill. Each adult will leave with a 12" log to fruit at home!
Adults are $55. If children under 18 are attending, we ask for a donation of attendance that will go to supporting the costs of the labor to cut the tree that will be used for the mushrooms. Children under 18 must be under the supervision of a guardian for the duration of the workshop.
This class is co-sponsored by Strawbale Studio and held on beautiful wooded rural land. See the Strawbale/earthen structures with thatched & living roofs! Please note that this event has 10 spaces each, so be sure to secure your spot soon!
Stay for a bonfire concluding our day's activities at 5:30! Bring food to share!

Inoculate Your Own Log
Info: Use logs from on-site trees to learn how to fruit your own mushrooms. This process includes drilling into logs, melting beeswax over a rocket stove, plugging, and more. You will also learn an additional method for growing your own mushrooms in a bin at home using materials you likely already own!
