For people wanting to learn how to grow food in their backyard or on their balcony, but not sure where to start - this course is for you!
About this Event

Have you ever wanted to start your own small vege garden to become more self-sufficient, but were unsure where to start? Did you give it a go, ran into problems and abandoned your plans? Or are you already well underway on your growing journey and keen to learn more tips and tricks? You have come to the right place!

Judith Rosamund is the Teaching Garden Coordinator at Kaipatiki Project and has lots of experience teaching people from all ages, ethnicities and abilities to grow their own food. Rely less on supermarket prices and become empowered to grow your own!

The best time to start a garden is now, so dress warm, don your gumboots and join us for three Sunday afternoon sessions in June (4,11 and 18 June). We will especially focus on getting started, how to build healthy soil, and what you can grow in winter while getting ready for spring. We will then be running three more sessions in October (8, 15 and 22 October) focusing on growing a summer garden and maintaining plant health.

Your registration covers all six sessions. Please only purchase tickets for the first session, 4 June!

Limited numbers. All proceeds of the small registration fee will go towards the Orewa community garden fund.

This workshop series is funded through Auckland Council's Love Food Hate Waste fund. We gratefully acknowledge their support.
