About this Event
Freetown Farm is home to dozens of varieties of fresh produce — but did you also know we also have textile gardens? A partnership of five local organizations come together at Freetown Farm to grow cotton, nettle, dogbane, and flax for weaving. Ann Coren, a Howard County Master Gardner, will lead a tour of these gardens explaining the highlights of home growing fibers for fun, crafting, or curiosity.
This tour is free and is appropriate for anyone 10 years and up. Please wear walking shoes and long plants! A demonstration of how to process flax into a fiber will also take place afterwards from 2-4PM
