Group Walk - Winter Warmer in Braunstone Park

Meet at the gates of Winstanley House, centre of Braunstone Park.

Join us for a short visit to the small stable block museum in Braunstone Park. The Braunstone History Group will welcome our group and allow a glimpse at the lives of the Winstanley family, who once owned the Hall. After about 30+ minutes in the museum, we'll head out together to enjoy a warming walk around beautiful Braunstone Park. Our Walk Leader may pause occasionally for information, but mostly we'll keeping moving to enjoy a good stroll and keep warm. The walk will last up to 1 hour. Please arrive in good time - our volunteers will be there to greet you.

Booking
This short walk is free to attend, but numbers are limited. Please book via Eventbrite to secure your place when booking has opened.

If you are no longer able to attend, please cancel via Eventbrite or contact us by phone (during office hours)so we can allow others the opportunity to attend.
Travel
Consider making your journey sustainably by bus, cycle or on foot. Buses serve Hinckley Road and Cort Crescent, near the park. Braunstone Park has two public car parks; a small car park off Gooding Avenue, opposite the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. A larger car park off Cort Crescent. Do allow sufficient time to make your way from the bus stop or car park to the start location outside Winstanley House main gates, in the centre of the park. New Walkers
If you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete our Walker Registration form. You will receive information about how to do so by email in the days leading up to the event. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).
Dress for the weather
Remember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather. We recommend the following:
- Comfortable sturdy footwear
- Bring a raincoat or umbrella in case of rain
- On cooler days wear appropriate warm layers (hat, scarf, gloves) and a coat/jacket
- It's advisable to bring a bottle of water with you.
Group size
We kindly ask walkers to book a place, to help us keep our group sizes manageable.
