Sound is defines as mechanical radiant energy that is transmitted by longitudinal pressure waves in a material medium (such as air or water). The human body is made up of 70% water, making it the perfect medium for sound vibration.
Sound Healing with Himalayan Singing Bowls uses sound, vibration and intention to gently transition a person from his or her normal waking state of consciousness (beta) to a highly relaxed state of consciousness (alpha, theta, and delta). The vibrations and resonance of the bowls stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, the side of your nervous system tasked with relaxation, decreased heart rate, decreased blood pressure and slowed breathing. In this relaxed state, a person’s own innate healing abilities are able to work more effectively to bring one back into optimal vibrational alignment that enhances overall health and well being.
The harmonious sounds and vibrations produced during a group sound bowl healing session can induce deep relaxation, helping to calm the mind and reduce stress.Participants often find themselves in a meditative state, even if they have difficulty meditating in silence.
During the session, the bowls will be played to encourage a deep state of relaxation where a person’s own healing abilities may be activated. Please note that part of the session involves the placement of vibrating bowls near or on the body which can give off high or low pitched sounds as well as a deep resonating vibration. The bowls will be played as a group as well as around the participants and on the body if participants permission is given.
**Contraindications to receiving sound healing on the body (the bowl placed on the body)**
1. Having a Pacemaker
2. Pregnancy
3. Surgery within the past 6-8 weeks
Please note that if a participant has one of these contraindications, the bowl may not be placed on the body but will still be played around the body.
