A 33km loop of Motutapu Island from Rangitoto Island.The goal is nothing over 5hr30min so we don’t miss the return ferry.
This is an adventure run, taking in most of the coastal tracks, visiting up to 6 beaches and historical/archaeological sites. There is so much history and beauty on this island!
We return on the 4 PM ferry.
9:00 AM - Meet at the Downtown Ferry Terminal
9:15 AM - Ferry departure (to avoid disappointment and save, buy online the day prior - $58 return) (this ferry does go via Devonport)
10 AM - 3:30 PM - We run
4:00 PM - Return Ferry
As we encourage you to reduce your carbon footprint, please consider carpooling or using public transport to get to the Auckland/Devonport Ferry Terminal.
Motutapu Island is undulating and sections of the trails can be very slow.
We start and finish with a 5km gravel road each way, between the Rangitoto jetty and the causeway.
is a mixture of open road and technical tracks.
Please ensure you carry a minimum of 2 litres of hydration, sufficient food, a basic first aid kit and sun protection.
It is highly recommended to bring a change of clothing, which we stash in our usual hiding spot at the start.
