About this Event
Let's make some noise in the lovely community space that is Universal Space. This workshop will be an exploration of sound and improvisation.
This will all be done through music games, meditations, and activities.

“Which is more musical, a truck passing by a factory or a truck
passing by a music school?
Are the people inside the school musical and the ones outside unmusical?"
- John Cage
Open to those with or without music experience. I want to dispel any notion that some people can play music and others can't. Music is open to everyone. If you have experience it will stand to you as you have habits you can not pay too much attention to. If you have little to no experience it will stand to you as you won't be limited by technique or habit.
First things first: silence. Listening to silence, if it exists. Then deciding to make sound or not make sound. That is the basic question. Becoming comfortable making any sort of sound. We will try to make sounds in a way that doesn't prevent us from listening to others. How to listen is important, to not get lost in your own process. How to stay in contact with others.
