Group Hike: Grassy Waters Preserve

Hello hikers!

Our next meetup will be on Sunday, September 22 @ 10am. We'll be meeting at Hog Hammock Trail in to enjoy the tranquil and lush nature trail and then heading over to the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center to explore the boardwalk trail. Expect to walk 5-6 miles total.

Historically, the Grassy Waters area was part of the northern Everglades watershed and the headwaters of the Loxahatchee River.

We will be meeting at the trailhead for Hog Hammock Trail, hiking the trail, and then moving over to Grassy Waters Preserve to explore the boardwalk. The two locations are 0.7 miles apart. There will be time after the first hike to drive or walk over to Grassy Waters, use the restroom, eat snacks and hydrate.

Remember to bring plenty of water and sun protection and wear good walking shoes!

At 2pm, the Grassy Waters Preserve Nature Center will be hosting a free presentation, "Talk on the Wild Side: Endangered Species", on the 50+ different endangered and threatened species living within Palm Beach County.
