You’re invited to a special guided hike by Sempervirens Fund, a local nonprofit that protects redwood forests in the Santa Cruz Mountains, preserves the plants and animals that make them home, and restores the balance of nature.
Join us on Friday, February 12, for a roughly 4-mile hike through Castle Rock State Park. Together, we’ll embark on a loop trail filled with scenic view points that combine chaparral areas and mixed evergreen forests, with some mountains, valleys, and high elevation redwoods . Along the way, we’ll discuss the park’s ecology, the importance of redwoods, and how Sempervirens Fund history with Castle Rock State Park.
This hike is perfect for nature lovers and anyone eager to connect with other hikers. Expect moderate terrain, peaceful overlooks, and inspiring moments surrounded by nature. Please note that this hike includes a total elevation gain of nearly 900 feet. We will take frequent breaks as a group along the way.
To join this group hike, all participants are asked to complete a short, mandatory liability waiver.
