About this Event
Join us for a leisurely women's bike ride, about 8 miles taking advantage of Nottingham's Cycle Route (Mostly NCN 6) starting and finishing at Bulwell Forest Recreation Ground. This ride is open to all self-identifying women who are Nottingham City Residents.
We ride at your pace and stop regularly for snacks/chats/photos. As this is one of our longer rides, make sure you're comfortable in the saddle for 3 hours and if this seems daunting, either drop us a message to talk about it or join one of our shorter rides.
Meet us at 10am in front of the Childrens Play Area at Bulwell Forest Recreation Ground and depending on pace we'll be back for 1pm, see a google maps pin here.

NCN Route 6 is an offroad trail that takes us to Newstead Abbey. We'll spend 30mins here where there is a cafe & gardens to explore or you can stay and have a picnic with us by the lake.
We welcome women of all ages, abilities and backgrounds, we ride at the pace of the slowest rider, stop for breaks whenever you want and promise you will never be alone at the back! One of us will lead, and another will stay at the back so we stick together as a group.
You'll be in safe hands, between us we're qualified ride leaders and professional mechanics who love cycling. Before and during the ride we will be sharing all the tips and tricks to get the most out of cycling.
You won't need anything fancy, just a bike that rides and comfortable weather-appropriate clothing and some enthusiasm for cycling!
This session is organised by Women in Tandem, a Community Interest Company based in Nottingham that aims to support and empower women to ride bikes. It is part of our Travel Well project in partnership with Nottingham City Council and funded by Active Travel England. All attendees will need to complete a registration survey for our funders. You can sace time completing it before the ride (click here) to save time or you can complete it on one of our devices after the ride.
