GROUNDWORKS DANCE THEATER - GRAND FINALE PERFORMANCE
The Historic Conclusion to 25 Years of Moving Possibility!
SATURDAY, AUGUST 10 | 8 PM
Cain Park – Evans Amphitheater
FREE - No tickets are required for entrance, and there is no assigned seating.
After 25 years of groundbreaking contemporary dance performances in Northeast Ohio, nationally recognized, critically acclaimed, and beloved GroundWorks DanceTheater will present its grand finale performance. The FREE concert is GroundWorks' parting gifts to our family, friends, contributors, and the communities we serve for their tremendous support. These very special performances will feature three new dance works, including GroundWorks Founding Artistic Director David Shimotakahara's tribute to the music of jazz great Thelonious Monk, the latest from GroundWorks' Artist in Residence, Antonio Brown, and Seattle-based guest choreographer Olivier Wever's "The Sixth" set to original music by American composer Philip Daniel about stripping away the layers of distraction in our daily lives to rediscover our true selves and inner peace. Celebrate for the final time what Cleveland’s Plain Dealer called the "Smoldering brilliance of one of Cleveland's cultural gems."
