Join us for a fun hike on Groundhog Day at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts!Did you know that Wolf Trap National Park has it's own resident Groundhogs who enjoy the beauty, and we hope the music ,at Wolf Trap National Park for the Performing Arts.
We will share some FUN FACTS about Groundhogs and Groundhog Day as we walk along the trails enjoying winter birds, very early Spring plants and seek other winter wonders.
This event is family friendly. This hike is rated medium difficulty. The trails can be steep in parts and slippery. The hike is approximately 1.5 miles long- about an hour of walking. Dress in layers appropriate for the weather. Wear sturdy shoes suitable for trail walking. In the event of inclement weather or icy conditions the hike will be cancelled. Stay hydrated and protected from the elements.
MEET: At the Ranger Statioin to the LEFT of the Filene Center Box Office.
TIME: The Hike departs promptly at 10am and finishes at 11:30am
REGISTER: This event is FREE. Please register on Eventbrite. Please cancel at least 3 days in advance if you cannot attend so we can release your tickets to others who may be waiting to join the hike.

Attendees understand and acknowledge that outdoor recreational activities have inherent risks, dangers and hazards. Please read the Release of LIability as by attending this hike you acknowledge and understand that you release the organizers, volunteers and anyone affiliated with this hike from all liability. You also give permission for your photograph to be used for future marketing.
Release of Liability
- 1. Activities and Risks I understand and acknowledge that outdoor recreational activities have inherent risks, dangers and hazards. Participation in such activities may result in injury or illness including, but not limited to: dehydration, heat stroke, frostbite, hypothermia, skin rashes, bee stings, diseases carried by ticks and mosquitos, mental anguish or trauma from experience or injury, sprained or broken bones and falls that may result in serious injury or death.
- 2. Assumption of Risk By my participation in these activities, I agree and acknowledge that I am a consenting party to these activities and that I am aware of the risks of these activities. I appreciate the nature of the risks and voluntarily assume those risks.
- 3. Release of Liability On behalf of myself and my successors or assigns, I hereby voluntarily agree to release, waive, discharge, hold harmless, defend and indemnify Friends of Wolf Trap, its members, owners, agents, officers, volunteers and employees from any and all claims, actions, or losses for bodily injury, property damage, wrongful death, loss of services or otherwise that may arise out of my participation in any Events and any or all other related and/or secondary activities. I specifically understand that I am releasing, discharging, and waiving any claims or actions that I may have presently or in the future for the negligent acts or other conduct by the members, volunteers,owners, agents, officers or employees of Friends of Wolf Trap., their successors and/or assigns.
- 4. Permission for Photography and Videography I may be photographed or videotaped, and I irrevocably grant Friends of Wolf Trap, its successors, assigns, and licensees the exclusive right and authority to use, copyright and publish my voice, picture, name, and likeness for advertising, publicity, or promotional and other purposes in connection with Friends of Wolf Trap, in any form, including and without limitation, social media outlets, newspapers, magazines, motion pictures, game programs, audio tapes, video tapes, television broadcasts and web pages. The right shall belong to Friends of Wolf Trap at all times and shall survive the termination of this document. No additional compensation shall be paid or payable to me for any right or use granted to Friends of Wolf Trap. by me.
