The City of El Paso will be hosting the groundbreaking ceremony for the El Paso Fire Department Special Operations Division Station, which is located in Downtown El Paso at 222 S. Campbell St.This new state of the art public safety facility will consolidate Fire Stations 1, 9 & 11 to service the Downtown Area, and will provide additional fire protection for this area of El Paso.
The station amenities include the following:
•The construction of a 27,000 square feet facility
•10 apparatus bays for emergency vehicles
•Two-story living and sleeping quarters section
•A fitness facility and meeting areas
•Food preparation and service area with space for storage
•Restrooms with showers
•A dispatch office with room for equipment storage
•A decontamination shower and industrial laundry facilities
This project with an approximate budget of $23 million is funded by 2019 Public Safety Bond, and is part of the City of El Paso’s commitment to maintaining its standing as one of the nation’s safest cities.
