We are thrilled to celebrate a huge milestone for FIVE18 Family Services! With their contractor secured and plans under review, they are just weeks away from demolition at their new headquarters. Since there’s no ground to break, they are marking the occasion with a Sledgehammering Ceremony. FIVE18 offers family services, care, counseling, and community resources in Lynchburg, VA, and the surrounding communities. FIVE18 is derived from 2 Corinthians 5:18 which states, “All this is from God, who reconciled himself to us through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation.” Because God pursues and restores healthy relationships with us, we are empowered to pursue and restore healthy relationships in the world around us.
Over the last decade, it’s become increasingly clear to us that preventative care, when compared to reactively serving individual needs, better equips a community to protect and uplift its vulnerable children and families. With the goal of reconciling families, this rebrand symbolizes our renewed commitment to long-term solutions, addressing the root issues of trauma in order to provide families with the opportunity for healing.
