About this Event

Undestructable provides job skills training and employment opportunities for survivors of intimate partner abuse to create sustainable futures for themselves and the planet.

Undestructable’s goal is to serve survivors by providing a safe space to reclaim, reimagine and rebuild their lives after experiencing the trauma of DV/IPV, and to create a future for themselves that is safe, stable, and sustainable.

Cora Lee first dreamt up the concept for Undestructable 16 years ago as she sat in a sewing room while working on her BFA in Apparel Design. She spent 9 years in the apparel industry starting her professional career as an apparel product developer and designer with Merrell before she moved to adidas, where she was a senior apparel designer in basketball.

In July 2019, after spending years in the industry witnessing, experiencing, and fighting racism, sexism, ableism and more, she decided to take a massive leap to follow her true dream of starting a nonprofit. A dream of creating a space where she could bring all her personal and professional lived experiences into one space working with survivors.

Undestructable began as a tiny seed planted in passion for supporting survivors of intimate partner violence and a dream of sustainability from a post-consumer perspective. What began as a tiny seed has grown and matured into what we now know today.

"To say that Undestructable was born solely with the hope of helping survivors or solely around creating sustainable products would be a gross inaccuracy. One is not exclusive from the other within Undestructable. There are far too many parallels. The concept that all things are disposable in our country spans from hard goods to human beings. This needs to change."

Cora Lee believes that we all have unique journeys that translate into superpowers. Her superpower lies at the intersectionality of abuse, feminism, creativity, design, and desire to create social and environmental change. She challenges others to step into their authentic self by harnessing the power of their journey and using it for good.

As a survivor and leader, she is always working to help people rediscover their value and define their purpose.
