David’s “Gather the Family” concerts are a harvest of familiar old folk songs with a strong family message and a grass roots portrait of the Midwest. David performs songs, poems, and stories on many different instruments including banjo, dulcimer, concertina, Native American Flute, and of course, guitar. Folks of all ages are welcome to sing along with a menu of songs that are as warm as a thanksgiving dinner or a summer picnic. The Milwaukee Journal/ Sentinel wrote: “David delights in straightforward songs played well and sincerely. May there continue to be a place for his type in this troubled and troubling world.”
DAVID HB DRAKE has been called a "gentle troubadour" and an "elemental folksinger". He is one of Wisconsin's busiest family entertainers, presenting over 200 programs a year at fairs and festivals, in schools, libraries, for Senior facilities, community events and parks for folks of all ages! David was named"2002 Folk Artist of the Year" and "2001 Family Music Artist of the Year" by the Wisconsin Academy of the Music Industry (WAMI Award).
